Tides CEO to FoxNews advertisers: Drop Glenn Beck Or Have Blood On Your Hands

As much as I have disdain for the apparatchiks at the Huffington Post, I think this is worthy of posting.

It would seem that Glenn Beck must be on the right track, or why else would Drummond Pike threaten violence? Allegedly, Pike and his organization were recently targeted by Byron Williams, a mentally deranged nutcase and "assassin" who claimed to be inspired by Beck exposing Tides.
“To say we were ‘shocked’ does not adequately describe our reaction. Imagine, for a moment, that you were us and, had it not been for a sharp eyed highway patrolman, a heavily armed man in full body armor would have made it to your office with the intent to kill you and your colleagues. His motive? Apparently, it was because the charitable, nonpartisan programs we run are deemed part of a conspiracy to undermine America and the capitalist system, which is hogwash.”

Nonpartisan? Yeah, right. I wonder how many Republican organizations they've funded?

So, let me get this straight. This Byron Williams, who apparently is mentally unstable, makes an attempt to assassinate Drummond Pike and blames Glenn Beck? This coming from people who could have easily blamed the hostage situation at the Discovery Channel on Al Gore, but didn't.

Keep it up, Glenn. You know you have somebody cornered when violence is all they have left.

AM radio talk shows owe their survival to Rush Limbaugh

If there were a Mount Olympus of talk radio, Rush Limbaugh would be alone at the peak.

One hot summer day, I was driving the 169 mile, one way trek from Fort Lewis to Yakima to meet up with my new girlfriend, who is currently my wife. Not in any big hurry, I decided to take the I-5, I-405 to I-90 East route and about the time I reached I-90 at around 11:00 AM, I had accidentally pressed the AM button on the radio. Not wanting to play around with locating the local classic rock station while driving, I decided to leave it on the current station until I got to the first rest stop.

That was in 1988 and pressing the wrong button planted a seed in my psyche that changed my whole outlook on politics.

Listening to this person just going off on democrats was entertaining, though, I will admit I was 22 years old at the time and didn't have an interest at all in politics. Being in the Army, my life was pretty much laid out and I was on a mission to propose to my girlfriend, whom I only knew for a little over a month.

I had no idea who the person was that was railing on democrats and lauding Ronald Reagan was Rush Limbaugh (aka. ElRushbo, MahaRushie, Americas Truth Detector, The Doctor of Democracy). I was captivated by his rhetoric and even though I had no interest in politics, I agreed with everything he was saying. Odd, I know, but it felt right.

I'm not exactly sure how long he was on when another person got on the radio and began railing against the Republicans. I don't recall who he was, but, at twenty two years old, I needed blood pressure meds every minute I listened. What I do recall is people calling in and just giving this guy Hell; I seem to remember one caller mocking him with the voice of Elmer Fudd and another practically calling him a homosexual; I know now that they didn't have call screeners then like they do now.

About the time I got to the first rest stop, the signal was too weak to hear and I tried locating another station that might have been airing it to no avail.

I was hooked. I listened to Rush as often as I could until I was sent to Germany in 1992 for six years, returning to Fort Carson in 1998 where one of my first priorities was to locate a radio station that aired the talk show and pick up where I left off. Only to go back on another hiatus in 2001 when the Army decided I would make a great drill sergeant; the hiatus was due to the enormous pressures of drill sergeant duty causing a lack of interest. If you were ever a drill sergeant at Fort Benning, you will understand.

What I didn't know prior to 1988 was a law called the Fairness Doctrine. Prior to the emergence of Rush Limbaugh, AM radio was on life support with the doctor's hand getting ready to yank the plug. It wasn't until Ronald Reagan tossed the Fairness Doctrine into the waist bin, that Rush Limbaugh breathed life back into the nearly dead medium.

I attribute Rush Limbaugh with my current involvement in politics. Now that I am retired from the Army, I can openly voice my views without fear of reprisals. On a side note, ever since Glenn Beck started airing on my local radio station, he has pushed me even farther into politics, as well as my wife of 22 years, who just loves "Glenny".

With about 20 million listeners across the fruited plane, as well as on the Armed Forces Network, there is no doubt whatsoever that the Doctor of Democracy has emerged as the leader of the Conservative MOVEMENT.

One Nation astroturf rally a bust?

It was supposed to rival Glenn Beck's 8/28 Restoring Honor rally, but the head of the AFL-CIO Tweeted this image.

Looks rather dismal. Here is a picture from the 8/28 Restoring honor rally and you decide.

Guess they didn't pay union members enough astroturf money to show up.

MLK Jr was a Republican, before he was a Democrat

Glenn Beck's Restoring Honor Rally was supposed to transcend political parties and even politics itself. It did just that. Yet, the left wing media hate machine and apparatchik bloggers didn't see it that way; they saw it as an insult to Dr. Martin Luther King's historic speech and many seen it as "stealing" something they think is theirs by right.

To this day, Al Sharpton, who seems to think he's MLK Jr's torchbearer, still gets it wrong:

I wasn't born during MLK Jr's time. However, I can read and comprehend the English language.

Martin Luther King Jr wouldn't have agreed with any of Sharpton's comments. As a matter of fact, Martin Luther King Jr was a Republican before he was compelled to become a democrat. Spreading the wealth around is not a Republican tenet, as it is with democrats who believes in the four S's: slavery, secession, segregation and socialism.

The Republican Party was created in 1854 as the anti slavery party, who's platform was freedom and civil rights for blacks. In 1957, Dwight Eisenhower, a Republican, introduced the first Civil Rights legislation that was shot down by Lynden B. Johnson and then Senator John Kennedy, both democrats. It was attempted again in 1964, which was thwarted by Al Gore Sr and it's noteworthy to add that President Kennedy was opposed to MLK Jr's march in 1963, which was organized by A. Phillip Randolph, who was a black Republican. The 1964 Civil Rights Act was passed because the Republican Party pushed it through.

In March of 1968, KKK member and kleagle, Senator Robert Byrd referred to MLK Jr as a "trouble maker who starts trouble, but runs like a coward after trouble is ignited." On April 4, 1968, Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated.

  • It was the Republican Party that added the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments to the Constitution.

  • It was the Republican Party that passed the civil rights laws of the 1860s

  • It was the Republican Party that passed the Civil Rights Act of 1866

  • It was the Republican Party that passed the Reconstruction Act of 1867

  • It was the Republican Party that passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964

  • It was the Republican Party that started the NAACP and affirmative action with Republican President Richard Nixon's 1969 Philadelphia Plan

As for affirmative action, it was started by Richard Nixon to counter the harm and damage being caused to blacks when democrat President Woodrow Wilson, a racist, democrat progressive in 1912 removed ALL blacks out of federal government jobs.

During the presidential campaign in 1964, Barry Goldwater wanted to force the democrats in the South to stop passing discriminatory laws and thus end the need to continuously enact federal civil rights legislation. So, those in the left wing media need to be reminded that LBJ's State of the Union Address on January 4, 1965 talked of an enormous amount of federal action on many issues, but, only devoted 35 words to the civil rights movement.

Then towards the end of LBJ's term, he referred to MLK Jr. as a "nigger preacher" when he protested against the Vietnam War.

Remember Trent Lott's remarks about Strom Thurmond (R-SC)? Recall the outcry from democrats after he made them? Isn't it a bit hypocritical of democrats to forget that Thurmond never wore white sheets and a pointy hat, like Robert Byrd did?

Both political parties have been infiltrated by progressives. In their perverted world view, they need to keep giving handouts to minorities to maintain control; all one has to do is count the numerous federal programs that give entitlements to blacks and other minorities, which keeps them coming back for more much like a drug addict looking for their next fix.

Democrats have been running the inner cities for the better part of 35 years. Since LBJ's "War on poverty", $7 trillion has been spent with little, if any measurable impact, yet they continue to blame Republicans for the problems. Since 2006, democrats have had control of both houses of Congress, yet whine like pouting children when they claim that Republicans are keeping more entitlement or tax busting bills from being passed. Here's a news flash:

Democrats don't need Republican support, the democrats have majorities in both houses and can pass their bills without their support.

Why did Martin Luther King Jr. flip sides?

Mrs. Coretta Scott King urged Nixon, who voted for the Civil Rights Act, to help her husband when he was facing jail time. Nixon didn't respond, but Kennedy did and subsequently brought it to the attention of the nation.

Coretta Scott King was pregnant at the time and was very grateful for Kennedy's intervention, urging black voters to cast previously Republican votes for Senator Kennedy even though Kennedy had voted against the 1957 Civil Rights Law.

So, it shouldn't come as a shock that many blacks, particularly Martin Luther King Jr. were Republicans during the sixties.

Sean Hannity jealous of Glenn Beck?

Seems so. Megyn Kelly, Greta, Fox and Friends and Brett Baier talked about it. Bill O'Reilly dedicated a whole hour to Glenn Beck's restoring honor rally, but, one host was conspicuously silent on the historic event on Saturday.

Maybe it was because he was on his last leg of his Freedom Concert Tour.

I doubt it; it vaguely got any attention in comparison to 8/28. But, he did tweet: “Had a great weekend on the final leg of the @FreedomAlliance concerts. Thank you all for coming out and supporting the cause!”

Could it be because rumors are floating around that Glenn Beck may be getting a prime time slot? If that comes to pass, consider this: There is a finite amount of prime time on Fox News, if he does get a slot, that means someone has to go. But, for now, it's only a rumor.

Even the other major network news talked about Glenn Beck's rally on Saturday. So, that begs the question: Why didn't Sean Hannity even give a brief mention of it?

Jealousy, maybe? I think so. Not even two years on Fox News and he quickly surpassed Hannity's ratings and is quickly catching up to O'Reilly. I think it's the chalkboard.

As of this month:

8PM – P2+ (25-54) (35-64)
The O’Reilly Factor– 2,521,000 viewers (624,000) (1,238,000)

5PM – P2+ (25-54) (35-64)
Glenn Beck – 2,252,000 viewers (464,000) (875,000)

9 PM – P2+ (25-54) (35-64)
Hannity– 1,924,000 viewers (428,000) (907,000)

That's gotta hurt!

Glenn Beck's Founders Friday - African American Founders

I am 43 years old and at no time do I ever recall being taught this in grade school or high school. Why? Well, there are probably a variety of reasons, not least of which involves some pinhead, progressive "history" professors in the eighties who thought they knew better than those that were actually there when it happened.

Below are three parts of Glenn Beck's African American Founding Fathers.

Part 2

Why Glenn Beck Passed Sean Hannity and is Now Ranked #2 On FoxNews

Have you ever met someone that you didn't particularly care for, but agreed with their points of view about 95% of the time? That's how I feel about Sean Hannity; it's not that I don't disagree with him most of the time, I do agree with him, but he comes across as a whining Republican hack that has thin skin.

I am a Constitutionalist, which means that I believe that it's a legal document that binds the federal government to the states and limits its role. It's not a "living" document as many liberals and progressives would have you believe.

The chief complaint I have about Sean Hannity, or Sean Vannity as I like to call him, is that he doesn't go after some Republican politicians like Mark Levin (he refers to some of them as Repubicans), Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Really, Lars Larsen and Glenn Beck does. He tends to gloss over some of them, like Lindsey Graham and John McCain to name just two.

And there seems to be some issues with Glenn Beck at FoxNews. A rumor is going around that there are some "journalists" that are a bit concerned that Beck is fast becoming the center piece of the news giant, though where this is coming from are anonymous sources and we know how that goes.

Mediaite posted an article that appears to narrow down the list of "concerned journalists" to just one. And who do you think they concluded was the "concerned journalist"? Why, none other than Sean Hannity.

And it makes sense. When Alan Combs left, Hannity was number two on FoxNews. Glenn Beck has been there for a little over a year now and has surpassed Hannity and is quickly catching up to Bill O'Reilly.

Why is Glenn Beck so popular? He is the only commentator on cable news that combines history with opinion and he tells it like it is, not caring if there is an R or a D next to name. He rightly points out that progressivism is the cancer and points out who they are in government, political affiliation be damned. By contrast, Hannity glosses over it if the politician turns out to be a Republican, no matter how progressive they are. If he were to go after these progressives masquerading as Republicans with the gusto he does with democrats, I'd probably have more respect for him.

Recently, Debbie Schlussel posted a hit piece claiming that Hannity's Freedom Concerts are nothing more than scams and lumps Oliver North in it as well. As much as I dislike Hannity's approach to politics, I personally don't believe it for a second, as Hannity has proven to me beyond the shadow of a doubt that he is a patriot and supports the troops.

Until more information is gleaned from these accusations, I'll refrain from responding. If it turns out to be true, then Sean Hannity and Oliver North have a lot to answer for.

Question With Boldness - Glenn Beck Causes Medina to Implode By Asking One Question

Debra-Medina"Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear."

The quote above by Thomas Jefferson seems to be anathema to politicians, particularly when it's put to use. There are some questions that can only be answered with a simple yes or a no; whether or not one believes that the Bush administration killed 3,000 Americans on September 11, 2001 is one of those questions.

Yesterday on Glenn Beck's radio show, Debra Medina, who is running for governor of Texas was asked this very question by Glenn Beck. Expecting a yes or no from Debra Medina was not what he and us listeners got. What we got was nothing short of someone trying not to lie by putting a spin on the answer.

And that's what she tried to do. When someone is asked a pointed question that only requires a yes or no, but, goes off on some tangent, they are trying to mask their true answer. In short, Debra Medina admitted that she's a 9/11 "Truther". Listen to the exchange and decide for yourself: Did she try not to lie by putting spin on a simple question?

"I think some very good questions have been raised in that regard. There are some very good arguments, and I think the American people have not seen all of the evidence there, so I have not taken a position on that."

Uh oh. Not good.

"Well, you know, that's a federal issue. We're very focused on issues in Texas, on Texas state government. I'm certainly not into mind control or thought policing people. "We've got a very diverse team in this state and that's because Texans are standing shoulder to shoulder to support and defend the Constitution. I frankly don't have time, you know, to go through and do psychological testing on people and know every thought or detail that they have."

See ya. I can sum up Debra Medina's spin in one phrase: YES. I Do think the Bush administration killed 3,000 Americans on 9/11.

It's really fascinating that Bush-Cheney detractors can call them stupid, clowns and imbeciles, yet claim that they were smart enough to concoct and execute, with mastermind precision to kill 3,000 Americans.

Glenn Beck - The Gift That Keeps On Giving

beck-glennGlenn Beck, yet again, is the topic of discussion on the lamestream media talk shows. You would think that he's Jason, Freddie Kruger, Hannibal Lector and Voldemort wrapped into one person. At any rate, Joy Behar has got to be one of the stupidest, moronic or the most willingly ignorant people that I've seen on TV. Until this exchange between Behar and Lizz Winstead took place on her show and convinced me that there are now four: Keith Olberman, Ed Schultz, Joy Behar and now Lizz Winstead. Well, there is Arianna Huffington, but she doesn't count because she doesn't have a television show, thank God.

"He should be institutionalized. First of all Glenn Beck, why is he even on television? I think it's somehow abusive to have Glenn Beck on TV because he seems mentally unstable."

So, the First Amendment doesn't apply to Glenn Beck because he is a kook that cooks up conspiracy theories and, according to another erudite individual, says the president wants to "slaughter" Americans? Not to mention that he is a shill for the Republican Party.

What jumps out at me is the fact that nowhere in this elitist exchange do they even make an attempt to refute any of Glenn Beck's claims and conspiracy theories. I wonder why that would be? Oh, I know. It's because they can't, so they would rather strip Beck's right to free speech.

Let's see. Keith Olberman on MessNBC said of Scott Brown, "In short, in Scott Brown we have an irresponsible, homophobic, racist, reactionary, ex-nude model, teabagging supporter of violence against woman and against politicians with whom he disagrees. In any other time in our history, this man would have been laughed off the stage as an unqualified and a disaster in the making by the most conservative of conservatives. Instead, the commonwealth of Massachusetts is close to sending this bad joke to the Senate of the United States."

And Ed Schultz said this, "And I'm inviting the drug-ridden scumbag, Rush Limbaugh, on The Ed Show to debate me on any topic! He won't do it because he's a drug addict and he's a coward, a complete coward. Plus he probably couldn't hear me if he was on The Ed Show...C'mon you fat pig. Let's get it on. I'm getting ratings without you. Hell, I'm doing you a favor. C'mon, Rush! Let's get it on! Get out of your compound down there. Get away from your drugs. Go see the doctor and get some hearing. Maybe you could pick up a 19th girlfriend. Maybe you could try marriage again. By the way, Rush, you got any kids? Oh, you're out of the mainstream!"

So, Keith Olberman and Ed Schultz's language is covered under the First Amendment, but, Glenn Beck's is not?

To say that the lame stream media, such as MessNBC, was complicit in campaigning for Obama isn't a stretch, particularly when Tina Brown and Howard Kurtz admitted it, "No, Obama got the best press known to man. Let's face it." And Kurtz added, "In the history of civilization."

And let's not forget that every time John Edwards was discussed on these "objective" talk shows, not one time did they ever refer to him as a democrat.

So, who's shilling for who? And what of the rumors that Olby's show is set to be canceled? If this is true, I'll bet it has something to do with a 44% drop in ratings and, I'll wager, that your show isn't fairing to well either.

Yet, Glenn Beck is well known for pummeling both republicans and democrats, if one watches his show or listens to it, they would know that he has railed on Lindsey Graham and John McCain, among other progressives. Of course, we all know that Joy Behar is objective in her reasoning:

Joy Behar made a living being "funny" and it's any wonder why she didn't go broke, because funny she's not. What she basically said was nothing short of echoing Margaret Sanger's idea of eugenics, which, incidentally, was taken up by the Nazi Party.

But, there is one question I have for Lizz Winstead, "Why is it that Glenn Beck's show on FoxNews alone is crushing the other news networks over 10 fold combined?" Why do you think that his show has surpassed Sean Vannity's and is quickly catching up to Bill O'Reilly's? Why has he been selected as the second most popular person on television?

Okay, that was more than one. Who's counting?

Glenn Beck has done more to reawaken Americans' interest in politics and our history than anyone else on network television and we are wide awake. You would rather rewrite our history and indoctrinate. And it frightens you, Lizz. I think it shakes you to your bones, because now that we are awake, liars like Obama and his ilk are in danger of losing come November and 2012.

Glenn Beck has become FoxNews' crowning jewel and it scares you, Lizz. You may say that his listeners and viewers are ignorant, stupid, backward ass hicks, but, you would be saying that to over 3,000,000 Americans. Are you willing to do that? I'll bet you think it, though.

Salon Launches Glenn Beck Smear Campaign

smear_campaign_beck
Salon.com's, Alexander Zaitchik has posted an article questioning the circumstances surrounding the death of Glenn Beck's mother. This is typical among the gutter press and its inhabitants when they can't argue the content and resorts to attacking the person and/or his family.

Glenn Beck, who used to have a show on CNN, is now hosting the Glenn Beck Show on FoxNews. Since that time, his show is quickly climbing in the ratings on a daily basis and may be catching up to Bill O'Reilly. With in your face content and hardball questions, it's typical for the tabloids, like Salon.com to make any issue a personal one when they can't cogently respond to people like Glenn Beck.
